Soror of The Year
2023 Dr. Keecia D. King
The Omega Phi Omega (OPO) Chapter crowned their fourth president, Dr. Keecia D. King, as Soror of the Year 2023 at the Holiday Social. She is the first to share both titles simultaneously!
Dr. Keecia D. King has made an admirable commitment to the chapter during the 2023 service year. As a Silver Star and Life Member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, IncorporatedÌ€®, she generously shares her knowledge and experience with others, helping to elevate the entire chapter.
Her contributions include implementing process improvements to chapter operations, vision and implementation of OPO’s First Ever Community Service Day (which is still ongoing), mentorship, ensuring OPO has ongoing membership to the St. Augustine Martin Luther King Committee, and identifying opportunities to serve the St. Augustine community.
The OPO Chapter has received awards aligned to the Community Service Days, including the Marsha Lewis Brown Service Delivered Impact Award (70th SARC) and the Elizabeth Smiley Young Outstanding Community Service Award (Cluster III 2023). These awards celebrate the accomplishment of Dr. King’s vision and the chapter’ execution.

Dr. Keecia D. King’s sisterly love can be seen and felt in her warm smile, consistent positive attitude,‬ willingness to make herself available to answer questions day or night, share words of wisdom,‬ tactfully handle chapter business with a smile, and provide support that uplifts, supports, and‬ encourages members to continue to “soar to greater heights of service and sisterhood.” She is truly a servant leader.
Congratulations on this accomplishment!
